Saint augustine youth ministry choir (saymc)
The St. Augustine Youth Ministry Choir is a youth-based choir, where we serve God through our gift of singing. Upon practices, we learn how to glorify God through singing, learn how to read sheet music, and spiritual help one another in our faith journey. We help, serve, and grow together in faith as we come together to sing.

Meet the choir Directors
Jacob TOlentino
Jacob stepped into music as a child growing up in St. Augustine and has continued serving ever since. Growing up as one of the Youth Leaders in the parish, he has utilized his leadership and musical skills to serve the as one section leaders in the Youth Choir. In 2014, he accepted to be one of the Choir Directors for the St. Augustine Youth Ministry Choir. His studies on playing the guitar and piano has helped the choir’s vocal ability and musical understanding of singing. He wants to help the youth encounter Christ through singing, dedicating time to help the choir members reflect on their relationship with God and their faith. He is a youth advocate, and is currently studying at Santa Clara University to earn a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry.

Nicholas Ladores
My name is Nicholas Ladores, everyone calls me Nikko. I am currently enrolled in Cal. State University East Bay as a history major with a focus on social justice and citizenship, hopefully becoming a teacher one day. I’ve grown up here at St. Augustine. My sister was a youth leader and section leader and would always bring me around. I joined St. Augustine Youth Group/ Youth Choir in 2008. From there, I consistently attended youth group meetings and choir practices because I was inspired by God working through the leaders that came before me. I was asked to become a section leader, then become a retreat leader and a member of the service and leadership team, and enjoyed every single moment of being able to spread Gods word. In 2014, myself and 3 others were asked to take over the position if youth choir director. After many years of singing with this choir, paired with the ability to play multiple instruments, and my experience in leadership; I believe that has helped this choir grow in many different ways. God has blessed me with the opportunity to see him work in so many of our youths lives, as well as my own, over the years. I hope to continue helping youth express their faith and have a deeper relationship with God all with the gift of singing. That is one of the reasons I will always choose to sing Gods praises. God bless.
