What are the confirmation retreats?
In collaboration with the Faith Formation Program in the parish, Saint Augustine holds two confirmation retreats a year, in which youth leaders spend a weekend sharing their faith and experiences with the Confirmandi attending the retreat. These retreats provide students with a different way to learn about their faith outside of their confirmation classes. The purpose for youth led and directed retreats under advisement, coordination, and facilitation of the Youth Minister(s) is to not only allow for those who have decided to say yes to this faith and Church share their experiences following the Sacrament, but to really bridge the program to the youth group. SAYG is here for all members of the young church especially for those who have finished their official schooling through the Faith Formation Program. We want to show, it is possible and necessary to be apart of the church following Confirmation.
All confirmation retreats are lead by youth leaders, ranging from freshman to senior year of high school. The leaders have all experienced confirmation, and have chosen to serve God through leading these retreats. Retreat Teams plan the retreats about 4-6 months prior to the weekend.
